Orthodox Catechism Classes at the Resurrection of Christ
With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia and under the guidance of His Grace Bishop Christodoulos, our Parish is blessed to offer Orthodox Catechism Classes for those residing in the local area. These classes provide a unique opportunity for individuals seeking to deepen their understanding of the Orthodox faith, as well as those preparing for baptism into the Church.
Our parish runs three distinct catechism courses throughout the year: in March, June, and October. Each course spans a period of 8 weeks, during which catechumens are guided by His Grace Bishop Christodoulos, Fr. Athanasios, and Fr. Socrates. The classes cover a wide range of topics essential to Orthodox Christianity, helping participants build a strong foundation in their faith.
A distinctive feature of our Catechism Class is its connection to our Parish Fellowships. During their time in the catechism program, our catechumens are encouraged to actively participate in our parish fellowship events. These gatherings, organised by the clergy, foster a sense of community, allowing individuals to experience the support and warmth of the Orthodox family beyond the classroom. These events continue throughout the year, strengthening the bonds among our parish members and cultivating a welcoming environment for all.
Once the lessons are completed, catechumens are invited to be baptised in our Church, officially becoming part of the Orthodox family.
For further details or to express interest in joining a Catechism class, please email His Grace Bishop Christodoulos or Fr. Athanasios at goparishkogarah@gmail.com.
We look forward to welcoming you into our parish community and guiding you on your journey of faith!
