Nurturing faith, values, and identity in the classroom.

The Greek Orthodox Parish and Community of Kogarah & District proudly supports Special Religious Education (SRE)—commonly known as Scripture—in local public schools across the St George area. With the blessing of His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia, our dedicated volunteer teachers deliver age-appropriate lessons that help students grow in their understanding of the Orthodox Christian faith.

Through Scripture classes, children are introduced to the teachings of Christ, the lives of the saints, major feast days, and the importance of love, kindness, and respect in daily life. These sessions offer a safe, inclusive space for students to ask questions, explore their spiritual identity, and feel a connection to the wider Church and community.

We work in close partnership with families and schools to ensure our program meets educational standards while nurturing the spiritual wellbeing of our young people.
